George's daughter Stacey witnesses about her parents:
"My father was an entrepreneur, and very proud of his Belgian-Dutch heritage. He started three businesses in his lifetime all geared to the automobile sector. He supplied various parts to automakers like General Motors and Chrysler. The last business he was involved in paints automotive parts with a specialized industrial coating. Currently O.E.M. Industrial employs approximately 170 people and generates sales of over 11 million Canadian dollars in 2001!! The abbreviation 'O.E.M.' stands for 'Ontario Engineered Suspensions'.
Since my father died, the children have inherited the business. My brother Darren is currently General Manager, and works there full time. I work there occasionally. My other two siblings Dean and Kelly are not involved as much. My mother is the largest shareholder and does not work there on a full time basis.
My dad was a dynamic, energetic, intelligent and extremely driven person. Work was his passion and hobby, though he did spend a lot of time playing golf. At the age of only 55, he died, totally unexpected, of a massive, sudden heart attack while he was playing golf. It was all very shocking and horrible. At least he died while doing something he loved."
My mother Glenda, stayed home to raise us as kids, and as we were older worked for an insurance company processing claims. She no longer works, but enjoys volunteering for many local organizations and spending time with her grandchildren."
